Call 911 if: Difficulty breathing, chest pain, confusion, or loss of consciousness

Dangerous combinations include:

  • Bleach + Ammonia → Chloramine gas
  • Bleach + Vinegar → Chlorine gas
  • Bleach + Rubbing alcohol → Chloroform
  • Bleach + Toilet bowl cleaner → Chlorine gas
  • Hydrogen peroxide + Vinegar → Peracetic acid

Product in eyes

Start rinsing immediately. Every second counts.

✓ Do

  • Tilt head so water runs away from unaffected eye
  • Use any clean water source available
  • Keep rinsing the full 15-20 minutes

✕ Don't

  • Rub the eye
  • Apply eye drops without guidance
  • Delay rinsing to find product info first

Inhaled fumes

Skin contact

✓ Do

  • Remove jewelry near affected area
  • Keep rinsing even if it feels better
  • Cover with loose, clean bandage after

✕ Don't

  • Apply creams or ointments without guidance
  • Break any blisters that form
  • Use hot water

  • Do NOT induce vomiting (caustic products burn twice)

  • Do NOT wait for symptoms before calling
