Substance use / overdose

Call 911 immediately if: Unconscious, blue lips, not breathing, seizure, won't wake up

Signs of opioid overdose:

Small pupils, slow/no breathing, blue lips/fingernails, gurgling sounds, unresponsive. Fentanyl is in many drugs now — can't tell by looking.

Mental health crisis

If in immediate danger: Call 911. Stay with them. Remove access to means of harm.

It's okay to ask directly:

"Are you thinking about suicide?" Asking doesn't plant the idea — it opens the door for them to get help.

Sports injury

Call 911 if: Neck/spine injury suspected, bone visible, severe bleeding, can't move limb

Car accident

Call 911 if: Anyone injured, car not driveable, other driver leaves scene

Whiplash symptoms can be delayed:

Neck pain, headache, dizziness may appear hours or days later. See doctor if symptoms develop.

Allergic reaction
